A survey by gocompare.com reveals the nation’s favourite property programme presenters. As someone that has featured on “Homes Under The Hammer” and contributed to “To Buy Or Not To Buy” as the “local agent” this makes me slightly jealous as I’ve never been asked to step in front of the camera!
I have however been asked to supply content for TV shows about housing benefit fraud and to the national and local press. These accolades look great on a CV or LinkedIn profile, but the following lucky beggars have been voted the nation’s favourite “talent” (in TV speak) when it comes to our fascination in and addiction to property related TV.
The nation’s favourite property show presenter has very little experience of building, renovating or designing at all, and is equally at home hosting a quiz show as presenting the BBC’s DIY SOS. Step forward UK viewers’ favourite property show frontman, Nick Knowles.
The BBC’s Changing Rooms pioneered the format of the property makeover show and paved the way for the vast selection of home decorating, home renovating, homebuying and homebuilding programmes we enjoy today. However, the show’s original run came to an end 11 years ago, which could explain why Linda Barker and Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen placed ninth and tenth respectively.
The UK’s favourite property show presenters:
1st – Nick Knowles – DIY SOS
2nd – Kevin McCloud – Grand Designs; Man Made Home
3rd – Phil Spencer – Location, Location, Location; The Secret Agent
4th – George Clarke – The Restoration Man; George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces
5th – Kirstie Allsopp – Location, Location, Location; The Property Chain
6th – Sarah Beeny – Property Ladder; Britain’s Best Homes
7th – Martin Roberts – Homes Under the Hammer
8th – Lucy Alexander – Homes Under the Hammer
9th – Linda Barker – Changing Rooms; 60 Minute Makeover
10th – Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen – Changing Rooms; House Gift
If there is anyone reading this who happens to work for a TV production company then please do feel free to get in touch if any of these celebs suffer form an unfortunate accident whilst painting someones living room or remodeling their garden! I’d even be happy fetching tea and coffee on set!
