On Sunday 21st May as part of the Rugby Bikefest it will not only be the motorbikes that are rocking the town centre but the music line-up as well! Organisers Rugby First, in conjunction with local bike groups and musicians have put together an amazing line-up which promises to appeal to all music tastes and have you firing on all cylinders. The festival takes place in Rugby Town centre between 10.30am and 4pm and is one not to be missed!
Whether you are a bike enthusiast or not, there is something to keep everyone entertained – a ‘ride-in’, bike displays, stalls, live music, children’s activities, funfair and food – a great day out for all the family!
This year’s music line up is certain to get you all revved up as some superb local bands take to the stages in the Market Place and Church Street (next to The Squirrel public house). Performing on the day will be Overdrive, Rugby Electric Guitar Orchestra/Sunroof, Caitlin McCarthy, Synth Machine, Wild Ride, Monday Nights, Trust Club, Boss Madra, The Jellyheads and Handball Alley. For timings and further information please visit the Bikefest website.
Something not to be missed is the ‘Ride-in’, where hundreds of bikes roar into the town centre creating a fantastic spectacle along with a deafening noise. If you own a bike and would like to join the ‘Ride-in’ all you need to do is register your details via the website below.
Linda Lowne, Rugby First Business and Stakeholder Manager, said: “The music at Bikefest is always a big draw and this year I think we have got a great line-up of local bands and talented performers on display. A massive thanks to the creative team who have put the exciting programme together. In memory of Sue Garaghty, owner of the Squirrel pub and great supporter of Bikefest who sadly passed away last year, the Church Street stage has been named ‘The Sue Garaghty Squirrel Stage’.”
Linda added: “Don’t forget if you want to join the very popular ride-in, you will need to register online at the web address below. We are also still interested in hearing from stall holders or those interested in displaying their bike.”
