RUGBY FIRST TO SERVE UP A TASTY FOOD AND DRINK FESTIVAL! If you enjoy great food and drink then why not visit the ‘Spring Rugby Food and Drink Festival’ on Saturday 15 April, in Rugby town centre. The free to enter event, organised by Rugby First, will take place in and around Regent Street and Regents Place, between 11am and 5pm. As well as food and drink stalls, there will be a mouth-watering array of entertainment including a traditional funfair, face painting, circus skills, petting farm, music, dance and much, much more!
Stroll around a selection of stalls offering high quality tasty treats from businesses, farms and producers. Much of the food will be freshly cooked, sizzling, full of flavour and ready to eat! Look out for Biltong, German sausages, Indian street food, Greek food, Pork and Chorizo burgers, Flatbreads, gourmet brownies, Punjabi Street food, cheeses, local honey and much, much more! Of course, you will need something to help wash it down, so we have a great selection of ales and wines to choose from.
Further ingredients on the day will include live music, dancing, a petting farm, the repair café (for all those broken kitchen items), a big wheel, traditional funfair, games, circus skills, face painting, a children’s Sheep treasure trail and a very special guest – a full size steam traction engine! All in all a delicious mix, guaranteed to whet your appetite, quench your thirst and entertain you and your family!
Linda Lowne, Rugby First Business and Stakeholder Manager, said: “I am really looking forward to the first Spring Rugby Food & Drink Festival. There’s been lots of interest from stall holders, and I am delighted that St Andrew’s Church and Rugby Baptist Church, along with local businesses, will be supporting the event again. A special thank you to Ashley’s, St Matthew’s Street, Rugby for their support also.”
Linda continued: “The festival is just one of the events, organised by Rugby First, and similar to Rugby Bikefest, the Christmas light Switch-On and the September Food and Drink Festival, it is hoped that the event will have a significant impact on the town centre, bringing increased footfall and revenue into the town centre economy, as well as attracting new visitors. If you are in town for the event why not take the opportunity to support local businesses as well.”
