Two Warwickshire towns have been named in top 10 places in UK to live and work in. In fact Warwick is ranked second of 181 of the largest town and cities in the country as part of research carried out by RM Mortgage Solutions.
Rugby comes in at eighth in the table, as reported by ChesireLive. Places were ranked according to various factors but mainly job prospects, affordability and quality of life.
Warrington was judged to be the best as it “balanced a high quality of life and job density, with low living costs” with the median rent at about £600 per month, according to the study.
The full judgment said: “Warrington, Cheshire, tops the list as the best area to move to in the UK. Nestled between Liverpool and Manchester on the River Mersey, the town has a quality of life score of 269/403, job density of 0.69 and low rental costs of £600 – just 23.3% of monthly income is spent on rent.
Warrington was followed by Warwick, Derby, Crawley and Tewkesbury in the top five, while Eastbourne, Harrow, Tamworth, Gosport and Braintree were named as the worst five.
Rugby is served by the M1, M6 and A5 and as a result is home to many distribution and transport companies. The train station enjoys excellent services to Birmingham and the north, as well as London and the south with a non-stop service arriving at London Euston in less than 55 minutes.

Nearby Lutterworth also provides good access to the M1, M6, A5 and M69and like Rugby is home to many distribution and transport companies. The nearest train stations are Rugby and Narborough and whilst retaining its small-town charm Lutterworth also boasts a Waitrose and a Morrisons supermarket. The town centre is also filled with independent shops, eateries, pubs and restaurants and a wide variety of food outlets offering a range of international cuisinesincluding Himalayan and Mexican.
Lutterworth has famous historic residents including John Wycliffe who it’s traditionally believed was the first person to translate the bible into English, and Sir Frank Whittle who invented the jet engine.
Lutterworth offers two primary schools and two secondary schools (Lutterworth High and Lutterworth Grammar School and College).
