Only four days into the New Year, Boris Johnson made one of his first significant announcements of 2021 addressing the nation about a further Lockdown to begin in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The Prime Minister advised people to “Stay at Home”, mirroring the details of the announcement made a little over nine months ago. During his eight minute speech, he implied that this Lockdown in England may last until the middle of February.
In addition to essential activities such as shopping for food and medicine, caring for vulnerable people and fleeing domestic violence, the current guidance for moving home remains the same, meaning people in England will still be able to move and removal firms, contractors, letting agents and estate agents can still operate.
However, it is paramount that the national guidance on moving home safely and working in someone’s home is followed very carefully and adhered to in the strictest terms.
Moving Home
People are still permitted to move home. People outside a household or support bubble should not help with moving house unless absolutely necessary.
Estate and letting agents and removals firms can continue to work. In Rugby and Lutterworth the market is very healthy, especially for village and period homes. Our Character property team are working harder than ever dealing with some exciting new build and rural projects!
Follow the national guidance on moving home safely, which includes advice on social distancing, letting fresh air in, and wearing a face covering.
